Continued from Asher Turns 3: Event Styling Under $100
So YEEES – Asher’s month long birthday celebration continued, 2 more times. But ONLY because we had a trip scheduled with my side of the family to go to Boracay during Asher’s actual birthday. Coincidently, my in-laws arranged a trip to Palawan the week after. Since we weren’t able to spend Asher’s birthday with them, we decided to prepare a mini party to celebrate with them too. We just recycled and repeated EVERYTHING! Ok, all the decorative items except for the plates, table napkins and paper cups. Obviously. haha!
PARTY 2: Discovery Shores Boracay (Actual birthday & Asher Turns 3: Event Styling Under $100)
Initially, we were just suppose to put the decorations up in our room while Asher was asleep so he would wake up to Dusty everywhere BUT the night before Asher’s birthday, my mom suggested that we celebrate with a Boodle Fight (Military style of eating where long tables are prepared and food are on top of the banana leaves. Viands and rice ready to eat using your bare hands, jugs of water are prepared on the side to wash hands before the “eating combat”.) – something new which our family has never experienced. So much fun!
I just have to say that the service in Discovery Shores is IMPECCABLE. Lead time and preparation: Less than 24 hours!!! We decided on the food, left instructions and pretty much planned everything the night before – after dinner to be exact. haha! It was during this time that the Discovery Shores team asked me what Asher’s favorite cartoon character and music was. And you know what.. they pulled through with the cake & music too! Of course I ambushed the kitchen throughout the morning, harassed the staff and couldn’t help myself from meddling in decorating the area. Yep, I’ll admit … I’m one of THOSE clients! Eeeeeeeep.
But LOOK how Discovery Shores pulled through. And THIIIIS is what you call a Boodle Fight! YUM.
Thank you so much Discovery Shores for always taking care of us! Mr. Antonio had a smashing time.
Party 3: El Nido Pangulasian Island, Palawan
By this time, we had finished the birthday celebration in Boracay and party in school with just the right amount of Dusty plates, cups and napkins left over. Of course I used it: including the table covering. haha!
Here I am again adding a layer of plates and extra water glasses to the set up – EVEN IF – we didn’t pre-order food & didn’t know if it was going to be used. For me, it was just all about the aesthetics and visual appeal: the epitome of form over function! haha.
And of course what’s a party without a “Dusty”cake. Did you know that the resort got the “Dusty” airplane all the way from Manila just for Asher’s cake? Now that’s SERVICE! Another successful “Dusty” themed party under $100. Come to think of it $100 event styling for 3 parties is around $33 per party: Roughly P1,700 for each celebration. In tagalog, “sulit”: Super SULIT! I’m patting myself on the back for this because the birthday boy is happy and our pockets are happy too!
