Calling all mommas!!! Have you seen the movie “Bad Moms”? If you haven’t, I suggest you watch it with your mommy friends!

Last August 3, my sister-in-law Jackie Cohen Antonio, good friend Andi Manzano Reyes and I hosted a special movie screening of “Bad Moms” at Century City Mall.

It all started with my husband showing me the movie trailer from his cellphone. I was so amused because I knew that most moms could relate to the scenes too. I initially asked my mommy friends Cara De Ocampo and Monique Gonzalez if they wanted to watch it together. Monique suggested that it might be an even better idea to get a cinema and make an event out of it. And that’s when I asked Andi and Jackie if they wanted to join forces to mount a mid week mini movie date. The basic idea was to treat our friends to an afternoon snack and a movie. Our “little” date eventually snowballed into a full blown event with a purpose.

Robbie Austin Cajucom and his mom Ericka

In perfect timing and according to God’s plan, Andi forwarded us a message that Ericka had sent her husband GP Reyes about her son’s condition. After a few email exchanges, we decided that our event would be a great opportunity to help them out in any little way we can.

Our cause: Little warrior Robbie Austin. When Robbie was 4 years old, he was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a malignant and aggressive form cancer. Now 5 years old, he has been through so much – he fought and beat cancer!

Even if Robbie is currently cancer free, he’s still on the road to a full recovery.

Event ready, Instagram celebrity Baby O leads the way…

Jen Baylosis-Flores

Our lifesaver, Jen Baylosis-Flores graciously helped us with registration.

The first 60 guests received GC’s for complimentary services from MAC Cosmetics, Jo Malone, Beyong Yoga, La Mer, Browhaus and Strip.

Everyone received vouchers for our pre-movie snack at Hole-in-the-Wall and stubs for their coffee from Toby’s Estate.

Merienda in Hole-in-the Wall

Hole-in-the-Wall is a gourmet food hall with the most innovative food concepts owned by Charlie Paw and spearheaded by Chef Miko Aspiras.

Choices, choices, so many choices!

Hole in the Wall

This is not even all of it. But, YUUUM!!

Hole in the Wall Merienda

Some of our guests made it to just the pre-movie merienda, others made it in time for the movie but some stayed with us all throughout. Yay!

We introduced Robbie to everyone and his mom shared their story. Our guest generously shared what they could. Chibimomo gave Robbie a goody bag and Trenspotter’s surprised him with a new pair of sunglasses by Polaroid.

Toby's Estate FREE COFFEE

Pre-cinema stop at Toby’s Estate. It was packed!

Initially we were suppose to use Century City Mall’s premier cinema. The cinema first in the country to have the Dolby 7.1 sound system. And ugh, look at those super comfortable Italian leather-cladded reclining La-Z-boy seats.

The premier cinema could only accommodate 58 guests. Over 100 guests confirmed so we decided to use the biggest cinema with 165 seats. No one on the hideous first two rows that are so close to the screen, everyone in the middle and free popcorn from Tater’s for all!

After the movie, special gifts from La Mer, Jo Malone, MAC Cosmetics, Gucci, Cross Pens, luxury linens from Zyji Linens, a sterilizer from EcoMom, Crib from Arms Reach Co-Sleeper were raffled off for the moms.

Along with gift certificates from Centuria, The Aivee Clinic, Chibimomo, Rabeanco, Melissa and Paez shoes.

The Parenting Emporium LOOT

The fun did not stop there as all guests went home with a loot bag filled with treats from The Parenting Emporium.

Pampers generously gave diapers to everyone..

and Bath Origins too!

I couldn’t help but share the contents of the Bad Mom’s Loot which The Parenting Emporium put together. Awesome right?

We felt like we were keeping everyone for so long that we were rushing and rambling through the raffle. Hence, we weren’t able to take photos of everyone who won prizes. Oh I almost forgot, EVERYONE won prizes. haha!

These cinema shots were an after thought. It was taken after the raffle so not everyone was included. Sayang!

More snippets!!!

and YES, it’s on video too!

On behalf of the “Bad Mom’s” team, we’d like to thank everyone who came, supported and laughed with us. And to all of our sponsors…THANK YOU!!!

Til my next post… or our next event!
