I finally did it. For the first time in 6 years, I packed up and travelled without my husband or kids. But quite frankly, with FaceTime and WhatsApp, it’s like I never left. haha!
I felt like I was in high school going on a field trip. According to Ellie Diccion PR & Branding Executive of Dyson Philippines, the group that was invited to join the trip was composed of “32 top media, journalists and influencers in the country”. I actually just heard that now. And wow.. I am truly honored.
We were way too many to squeeze into a photo. Team Philippines, REPRESENT!!!
Touchdown, Bangkok, Thailand. Sawasdee!
We stayed in Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld. I haven’t travelled alone in so long that I didn’t know what to do with myself. It was so quiet and I had so much space. haha! Check out the view from my room, it was literally a few steps away from the shopping mall, Siam Paragon.
But first things first, I had to take care of my breastfeeding duties. Meet Anira, he warmly assisted me and made sure my milk stayed cold until the very last minute that I needed to check out. Click the link to know more about: How to Pack & Travel with Breastmilk.
Now, this is when I said: Hello, Dyson!
The first night was a very casual International Media Dinner… I forgot to take a photo of all the “Internationals”. Ooooooops!
Don’t be surprised that it’s all the same faces in the photos. We all just pretty much stuck together!
Day 2 was a little more hectic and jam packed with activities. I just have to say that it’s pretty amazing how everyone in our group was all on time!
Have you ever seen this many TukTuks in one photo?
Pre-convoy photo with Pat Dy and Camille Co!
And of course the party TukTuk. Phoem and Sarah painting the town pink.
I’ve been to BKK a few times but this is my first time to experience a TukTuk motorcade. Woohoo!
Here’s a photo snapped by my TukTuk mate Pat Dy. I can’t believe he was able to capture this shot in a speeding vehicle. No wonder he’s one of Manila’s top photographers. What an amazing shot & moment!
Next up, the Tha Maharaja Pier.
We travelled via boat on the Thai River to get to our lunch venue.
Here are snippets of our early afternoon:
Our Queen Bee, Tessa Prieto Valdes.
And YEEES, she blew us away with her smashing, un-choreographed and impromptu dance number.
Back at the hotel, we had time for a quick change before heading to the highlight of our trip: Dyson Supersonic.
Ok, I’ll admit it, I do a little reading or research before I head to events so that I don’t look, sound or burst out a stupid question. hahaha!
What’s the first thing you think of when you see this? To me it’s definitely: POWER.
Full house. Different nationalities, countries and personalities gathered to witness the unveiling of one of the most life changing inventions: Dyson Supersonic.
Meet Graeme McPherson, Head of Haircare Product Development at Dyson. He is based in Singapore leading the Dyson Supersonic project and working with over 100 engineers to bring new technologies to life.
Krit Jirakietwattana, one of Thailand’s leading hairstylists gives us a demo of the world’s lightest yet powerful blowdryer to be invented. With no less than Miss Thailand Aniporn Chalermburanawong.
Behind the panels of the stage, we were invited to touch, feel and test out the Dyson Supersonic hairdryers. Check out my behind the scenes shots:
Ever wonder how long it takes Pat Dy to dry his hair??? Well whatever that time was, it’s cut into half!
Oh and I forgot to mention, it was Tim’s birthday!!!
Look at the power of that little thing. It’s strong enough to blow Camille Co’s hair considering her distance.
And it’s so small, compact and light.
During the trip, I was able to chat with one of Manila’s leading hair stylist & salon owner, Jing Monis and he raves about his Dyson Supersonic experience. He told me that he super loves it. If it’s approved and recommend by Jing, then it MUST be good. *wink*
Graeme McPherson (Head of Haircare Product Development at Dyson), Krit Jirakietwattana aka Kong, (Thai hairstylist) and Aniporn Chalermburanawon aka Nat Aniporn (Ms. Universe-Thailand 2015)
I definitely got lucky with this photo!
And of course, the people who made this trip possible: Warren Sy, Managing Director and Bobby Yan, VP-Communications from Whiteplanet Inc., Dyson Distributor in the Philippines.
Team Philippines, representing at that the Dyson Supersonic Launch in BKK. We have so many photos and yet were never complete. hahaha!
After the event we celebrated Tim’s birthday. Unfortunately, this is the only photo I have to remember the rest of the night. Fortunately, I had a blast getting to know Yvette and Camille on a more personal level. Love them!!!
Meanwhile, back at the hotel… I couldn’t help it. I just had to take a photo of the blowdryer which is typically used in most hotels. Raise your hands if you think the blow dryers in hotel rooms are small, compact, light but simply put: useless. :-P
The Dyson Supersonic has redefined haircare by reinventing technology!
Don’t worry, this baby is going to change our lives, FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m getting my blowdryer next week and I can’t wait to try it!!!
Til then… stay tuned because I will be sharing my thoughts, experience and will be giving a full review about the Dyson Supersonic.
Dyson Supersonic can be found at Greenbelt 5, Century City Mall, Rustan’s Makati, Abenson Bonifacio Global City, and SM Mall of Asia. It is available at PhP 21,500. And guys….. there’s a really LONG waitlist.
P.S. I’m keeping this experience in my memory and saving this photo for the books.
and kudos to the Paparazzi tandem: Javi & Patty for keeping us together, aligned and on time. You guys rock!
