No outfit is complete without the perfect accessory. Whether it be in fashion or interiors, accessories will definitely add character and reflect one’s personality. When I found out that I was having a baby boy, I panicked. Not that I wasn’t happy -but- only because I thought that boy’s fashion was very limited. Not until… I fell in love with bow ties!
We started making Asher wear bow ties as soon as I found out where to get them for baby boys. I bought Asher’s first bow tie online and a lot of them I was able to source during our trips abroad. Baby bow ties are actually also available locally… you just have to know where to look (Tips on shopping for bow ties deserves its own post…SOON!).
A lot of moms have asked me how I can get Asher to wear his bow tie the whole day. My secret: “start them young”. Like anything in life, it’s just a matter of getting used to. Be persistent and very consistent. In Asher’s case, wearing bow ties has become a force of habit that he can’t live without.
Initially Asher would wear a bow tie only during special occasions. Like all babies, he would put the first thing he can grasp into his mouth and suck on it.. it just so happened to be his bow tie. haha! As he grew older and his bow tie collection grew too.. we continued to make him wear it every time we went out. He eventually had gotten so used to it that he forgot he even had it on. Now-a-days, we’ve decided to change up his outfits for certain occasions. And during the times we don’t make him wear a bow tie, Asher says “where’s my tie-tie?”.
